Afternoon Tea at the Biltmore
The Biltmore Estate is known for its scenery and fine recreational activities. From wine tasting to touring the famous home and gardens of the Vanderbilts, there’s no shortage of interesting activities to partake in. One of its lesser known activities is afternoon tea at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. Simply put the experience was romantic and looked like a scene from a movie. The dining room is covered in fine white linen, tables topped with single crimson roses, and polite staff all waiting to serve fine teas paired with savory delights. The Inn offers a variety of teas from classic tea flavors to a fruitier variety. The cherry on top is the food pairings. Some of these mouth-watering delicacies will have you wanting to order seconds. While all items on the menu were delicious my favorite is the Raspberry Cheesecake. The Inn does an excellent job of pairing the cheesecake with the right amount of cheesecake giving it a kick without too much tartness. Grab Mom or a gal pal and enjoy a relaxing and luxurious experience in this picturesque corner of the estate.
Tea Tip: Seep tea leaves in hot water for one - two minutes, strain and replace sugar with honey for a sweetener. It makes for a richer taste. (no milk added, just hot water, tea, and honey)
