Amethyst Garden: Romantic Winter Getaway
The South consists of a treasure trove of warmer states during THE icy winter months. If you, your girlfriends or significant other are looking for a warm getaway check out the historical Amethyst Garden inn located in Savannah, GA. Known for its friendly culture, charming scenery, and quiet but not boring lifestyle, Savannah as a city is breathtaking. The town is host to a slew of charming inns. So what makes Amethyst Inn so unique and special? Where shall I begin? For one the inn has a magical feel to it. It’s beautiful purple shade and grandiose appearance paired with a garden theme make it stand out from local inns. Upon entrance the aging wood feel and chandeliers give the inn character like a bottle of aged wine. Soft background music, sparkling glass, rich and colorful portraiture come together in a culmination of rustic old world beauty. The Inn consists of 11 luxury rooms and spacious suites. Each room is unique in layout. No two rooms are the same. From intricately designed tapestries, to fireplaces to quaint views of the town from its balconies, Amethyst Inn provides a true luxury home-away-from-home experience. If you’re looking for rest and respite feel free to lounge around its den or pay a visit to its porches overlooking the garden. I had the pleasure of staying at the inn for 5 days in its spacious Magnolia Room. For a group of 3 or more I recommend my favorite room, the Dahlia Suite.
While the Inn is unmistakably beautiful quite often it’s the innkeeper that can make a break the guest experience. The Inn’s host Chemise is warm and welcoming. While she ensures all guests are welcomed and attended to throughout their stay let me just say, the woman can cook! Chemise delights guests with a fresh and savory southern breakfast every morning. Some of my favorites include the Spinach Souffle, Peach Bread Pudding, and Berry Cobbler. Guests also have access to using the Inn’s kitchen if needed. Chemise also provides guests with a map and can make suggestions.
